Designed to carry the bare essentials, the Petit is a perfect wee crossbody bag for neighbourhood jaunts, date nights + visiting the local farmers market! It's basically a deep pouch with an adjustable strap!
Made with attention to detail + only the finest ingredients, these Petit bags feature Jen's Tie Prints* wool flannel fabric. Free-hand quilting (doodling with the machine - not computerized) adds a layer of whimsy + unique texture. Finished with Japanese cotton lining, antique brass YKK zipper (made in Montreal!) + adjustable full-grain leather strap.
Note: While there are no interior pockets, a Small Pouch easily fits inside + can serve as a 'portable pocket'!
What are Tie Prints? The wool starts off quite plain, then I transfer the dye directly from pieces of silk (mostly neckties), effectively 'printing' the design directly from pieces of old ties onto a piece wool. It's not something I dreamed up, but I've spent many days (and nights) creating my own processes so that I can make work that is uniquely mine.

{Because the amount of fabric in a single tie is small + finite, making duplicates is impossible + experimentation is a constant!}
Care Instructions. Resilient + low maintenance, wool naturally repels water + stains. Do your best to soak up liquid spills when they happen with a paper towel or napkin. More solid messes should be left to dry, after which they can easily be scratched or brushed off + followed by a spot clean using a damp cloth. If a more thorough cleaning is needed: close zipper; remove strap; hand or machine wash in cool water; on delicate cycle + lay flat to dry.
